Packers fans pay double?

Can't Packers fans get any love?

Not at the Crystal Lake Rib House, which wants Packers patrons to pay extra for rib tips — at least according to a sign out front that reads: “Go Bears ... Packers fans pay double.”

Owner Dave Faccone put the sign up Sunday evening, hours after the Bears beat the Seahawks. Packers fans don't really have to pay twice the regular prices, it's just a joke meant to unite his Bears fans, Faccone said.

“I have a ton of Packers fans, but this game — it's like how often is this going to happen?” said Faccone, a Crystal Lake resident. “So I'm making everyone come together and support the Bears.”

Meanwhile, the sign has taken on a life of its own.

Besides encouraging spirited discussion at the rib house over which team is better, it has also generated calls from Packers fans intent on defending their team's honor, with many saying they're going to kick the Bears' behinds.

“I think it's going to turn into a fantastic weekend — everybody is getting engaged in this,” Faccone said. “It's great for business, it's great for the community... it's like the Super Bowl.”
