Dist. 15 Chapman report should be public

I read the article on Jan. 8 about Dr. Chapman, District 15 board president, being “cleared” of tampering with the minutes. The key sentence was: “Board member Sue Quinn, whose claims that Chapman unethically tried to revise her motion were at the center of the debate, said it's no surprise the president was cleared because key materials she submitted to Loizzi were left out of the report.”

Why were these key materials were left out? Are you going to do a follow-up and ask this very important question? District 15 residents should be outraged at this waste of taxpayer dollars to pay our own board attorney to conduct an “investigation” which never occurred. Facts were ignored.

The issue is whether Chapman, as board president, should be permitted to secretly alter minutes before the rest of the board has read them. If you believe in transparency, the answer is no.

If you believe your elected officials should act ethically, the answer is no.

Those who have nothing to hide, hide nothing. Also, Sue Quinn made a motion in December for the board to release the report and they voted it down. So much for transparency in District 15. Daily Herald, please do a follow-up to this story and voters, please remember this in April.
