Win over Seahawks means monster hype for next week

1941:

Yup, that's the last — and only — time the Bears and Packers met in the postseason (Bears 33, Packers 14, BTW).

The next time is …

Sunday. Lakefront. Soldier Field … Ditka. Oops, sorry. Just a reflex.

Weird feelings:

Admit it, you went through all the Elisabeth Kubler-Ross stages during Saturday's Packers game.

First there was denial that you were even rooting for the Packers in the first place. Then anger when they fell behind early. There was bargaining to try to get them back in the game and depression when they did in such easy fashion.

And, finally, there was acceptance that the Bears are in for one heck of a battle Sunday.

But:

Who cares? It's Bears-Packers!!

The numbers:

Bears quarterback Jay Cutler was 13 of 23 in eye-contact situations, with four scowls and one partial smile for a likability rating of 54.6, his highest since the win over Minnesota in mid-December.

Meanwhile:

The Bears, behind a solid defense and some steady play from Cutler, beat the Seahawks 35-24 to advance to the … blah, blah, blah.

Who cares? It's Bears-Packers!!

The quote:

This from Bears great Dan Hampton on WSCR 670-AM:

“Who is playing better right now in the NFL than the Green Bay Packers? Nobody.”

Three words:

Bring. It. On.
