Ryan's greed comes back to haunt
As I watched the news, my heart broke for George Ryan's family. It brought me back to a place I never wanted to go: The funeral of six children. The caskets started out large and got smaller as they went around in a half circle.
There were only five caskets; Elizabeth, 3, and Peter, a few weeks old, shared the smallest one.
George Ryan's greed has come back to cause pain and suffering in his very own family. Knowing he may never see or talk to his wife again, he knows the heartache of his very own family, brought on them by his greed.
He has not so much as even sent the Willises a note apologizing for his actions causing the death of their six children. Still, he's a very smug man in denial of all the suffering he caused. I know the Willises would have forgiven him, had he even bothered to ask for it.
Maybe now that his greed has come back to personally affect his own family he may find a bit of remorse for his actions. He didn't seem to be remorseful when his actions affected other people, in the absolute worse way imaginable on the face of this earth.
I can imagine losing a child is the worst pain a human could experience. Multiply that by six for the Willises.
