'Everything on table' means every thing

If the Republicans are serious about putting “every single thing on the table,” according to Mike Grim, R- N.Y. in a conversation with Diane Sawyer on ABC, in order to balance the budget, then they also have to put military spending and the war in Afghanistan on the table.

One can't say “every single thing” and then make an exception without losing all credibility.
