SWANCC provides locations for drop-off of electronics

Electronics are the fastest growing part of our waste stream and the Solid Waste Agency of Northern Cook County has established locations for residents of its 23 Northwest suburban communities to drop off such items.

They are the Glenview Transfer Station, 1151 N River Road across from Maryville Academy from 9-11:30 a.m. on Saturdays and the Winnetka Public Works facility at 1390 Willow Road from 10 a.m. to noon Tuesdays and from 1-3 p.m. Thursdays.

Under the Electronics Products Recycling and Reuse Act, only these items will be accepted computers, scanners, computer monitors, mobile phones, peripherals such as mice, keyboards and zip drives, MP3 players, televisions, PDAs, printers, VHS players, fax machines, DVD players, video game consoles and DVR/cable boxes. Electronics from businesses, institutions or schools will not be accepted. For information, visit swancc.org.
