Don't be too fast to pull the plug
In response to “Time to Pull the plug” found in the newspaper on Jan. 1, is it actually time to pull the plug?
Both Christmas and the New Year are over, but is it time to take down our lights and pack away the tree? No. We celebrate Christmas because of the Christian belief in a baby being born on Dec. 25. For Christians, Christmas does not end at 12 a.m. on the 26th, it lasts until Jan. 6, the day the Three Kings visited the baby in the manger. Have you heard the song ”The Twelve days of Christmas?” Dec. 25 to Jan. 5 is twelve days; the 6th would be the 13th day, but since it is Epiphany, it starts the next season in the church ending the Christmas season.
As the season approaches an end, keep your decorations up and spread some more holiday cheer, but on the 6th, remove your lights, trees, and stockings and make way for Easter.
