Westmont slips past Montini
Asante McKinley’s team-high 16 points were not enough to stop Westmont, which beat Montini 48-46 in a nonconference game in Westmont.
McKinley nailed four 3-point baskets for the Broncos. Dan Burke added 9 points and Jon Gibbs 8 points for Montini (3-8). Westmont improved to 6-9.
Maine West 60, Fenton 54:
Fenton (3-11) climbed from a 10-point deficit to pull within 54-52 with 11 seconds left before Maine West (9-5) iced the game with 6 straight free throws in the nonconference game in DesPlaines.
Dan Montano led the visiting Bison with 18 points. Jeremy Shimanek scored 12 points and Colin Wallace 11 for Fenton.
Girls basketball
Addison Trail 58, Downers Grove North 51:
Trailing 39-32 after three quarters, the Blazers rallied for an overtime win in Downers Grove. Meshaundra Donald scored 18 points for Addison Trail (9-7), 10 in the fourth quarter and overtime. Jazmin Little added 17 points and Marissa Pezzopane 10.
Katie Hunzinger poured in 30 points and Alison Schuster 14 for Downers Grove North (9-6).
Hinsdale South 52, Metea Valley 43:
Uzo Okoro and Toni Romiti each tallied 12 points for the Hornets (7-8) in Darien. For Metea Valley (4-13) Anna Petersen scored 15 points and Lori Obendorf 10.
Lockport 64, Glenbard East 44:
Michaela Stranski and Lauren Pusinelli paced the host Rams (3-11) with 14 points apiece.
