Railroad club of Sun City chooses raffle winners

The members of the Kishwaukee Valley and Eakin Creek Model Railroad Club of Sun City would like to thank all those who dropped by to visit its Holiday Display and especially those who participated in this year's raffle.

The three raffle winners are: Betty Callahan of Sun City; Kobe Taylor of Chicago and grandmother Dolores Sattler of Sun City; and Christian Leitner.

Each received an “O” gauge Polar Express train layout complete with an engine, tender, three coaches, track and transformer.

In December, the club also held a special evening, “Great Passenger Trains of the World.” Members of the club operated a special exhibit of signature trains of the Great Trains Era. They operated scale models of the beautiful trains of the 1920s, '30s, '40s and '50s and relived memories of classic rail travel.

The club will hold its annual spring open house in May. Details will be published in the Lifestyle Magazine, Channel 96, and the Sun City website at sccah.com.
