Hanover Twp. seniors to perform in variety show

Hanover Township seniors will shine at the New Year's Variety Show.

Rehearsals, costumes, choreography and props have been on the minds of the 40 senior citizen performers in preparation for their fourth annual variety show.

“A Classic Vegas New Year” takes the audience back in time to the golden age of Las Vegas. The show is written by a group of seniors, who made sure there is something for everyone.

Skits feature Las Vegas performers in tongue and cheek fashion. The show will be at 1 p.m. Friday, Jan. 7, at the Visual and Performing Arts Center at Elgin Community College, 1700 Spartan Ave., Elgin.

“This production from the Way, Way, Way Off Broadway Players will be the best one yet,” said Tracey Colagrossi, Hanover Township Senior Services program manager who directs the production.

“We are looking forward to performing in such an amazing venue like the Elgin Community College theater.”

The public is welcome to attend the performance. A $12 ticket includes a reception of hot and cold hors d'oeuvres immediately to follow. Tickets will be available at the door or can be purchased in advance at the Hanover Township Senior Center, 240 S. Route 59, in Bartlett.
