Parenting author to speak to Dist. 93 parents Jan. 11

Parenting author Char Wenc will speak to District 93 families from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 11 at Western Trails School, 860 Idaho St. in Carol Stream.

During this free event, Wenc will use humor and realism to share her knowledge of parenting skills designed to make a difference in how children and parents live together.

As a graduate school professor, Wenc has trained doctoral candidates in child development and parenting skills for the past 15 years at The Adler School of Professional Psychology in Chicago. She also teaches interpersonal and communication skills as a professor at Loyola University Chicago. Her experience as a clinical counselor and parent coach gives a practical application to all of her work.

Wenc has written the books "Parenting? Are We Having Fun Yet?" and "Cooperation: Learning through Laughter." She is the winner of the National Speaker Association Award for Unrelenting Excellence as a Speaker and the Illinois Board of Education Those Who Excel in Education Award.
