Let's be thankful for all who serve

In response to a Dec. 16 Fence Post from Robert Graham of Naperville, I want to say that I am appalled at your comments. What makes you think that homosexuals serving in the military will harm the system?

I guarantee there are plenty of servicemen and women who are homosexual, who are currently fighting overseas. How dare you say that their inclusion in the military would corrupt the system. Any person, regardless of creed, race, color or sexual orientation should be allowed to serve in the armed forces if they so desire.

God bless all the people who are willing to dedicate their service in honor of their country. Simply because people are different from you, does not mean that they are not capable of performing the duties required of them. You should be happy that they are willing to go into the line of fire on behalf of you and other people who spread their ignorance around.

Let's be thankful for everyone who currently serves and wishes to serve their country.
