Rex aims to prove he's the Redskins QB of the future

ASHBURN, Va. — Rex Grossman has no delusions about his reputation. He says he's "definitely stereotyped as an inconsistent quarterback."

He therefore realizes that his four-touchdown performance in his debut as the Washington Redskins starter isn't a sufficient sample size to prove he can be a reliable solution for next season.

Grossman threw for 322 yards and helped the Redskins overcome a 20-point second-half deficit in a 33-30 loss at Dallas.

He now gets a chance to do something that didn't happen often enough when he was with the Chicago Bears — string together back-to-back solid games. With Donovan McNabb benched for the rest of the season, Grossman gets the call again Sunday when the Redskins visit the Jacksonville Jaguars.
