No one injured in Buffalo Grove house fire
A Buffalo Grove resident escaped unharmed from a morning house fire, and firefighters rescued the homeowner's cat, which was taken to a nearby animal hospital, authorities said Tuesday.
Heavy smoke was billowing from the two-car garage when firefighters arrived at 7:27 a.m. at the two-story, single family home in the 900 block of Belmar Lane.
Firefighters used two hoselines to contain the fire to the garage and had the fire under control after about 40 minutes. There was smoke and water damage to the living area.
No firefighters were injured.
Arlington Heights, Long Grove, Lincolnshire and Palatine fire departments assisted in fighting the fire, while engines from Palatine Rural, and Lake Bluff and ambulances from Rolling Meadows and Wauconda covered the Buffalo Grove station.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation by the deputy fire marshal and the fire investigation team.
