Mount Prospect picks holiday decorations winners

The Mount Prospect Special Events Commission announced the winners of its Holiday Decorating Contest.

The winners are:

• Grand Prize: Mathew Florito and Rachna Soriana, 115 S. I-Oka

• Best Business: Avanti Cafe, 1900 S. Elmhurst Road

• Best Use of Lights: Donald and Girlie Dichoso, 1710 Laurel

• Best Block: 200-300 S. Pine

• Christmas Fantasy: Joseph Kase, 1714 Aztec Lane

• Best Religious: Timothy Taylor, 107 N. Elmhurst Ave.

• Simple But Elegant: Walter Szarowicz, 748 Whitegate.

The winners were announced and recognized at the committee of the whole meeting on Tuesday, Dec. 14.
