7 make for crowded field in Fox River Grove

A total of seven candidates are running for four seats on the Fox River Grove village board.

Those seeking the three, 4-year term seats are incumbent Trustee Steve Knar, Planning and Economic Development Committee Chairman Michael Schiestel and Parks Commission member Joanna Colletti, Chester Olencheck and John Gagliao.

Incumbent Trustee Suzanne Blohm will be challenged by Michael Olencheck for a 2-year term.

Incumbents Duane Figurski and James Tuman did not submit petitions for re-election.

Knar, Schiestel and Colletti all arrived at the village clerk's office on the first day of filing Dec. 13, so a lottery is scheduled for 9 a.m. Dec. 21 to determine who gets the top position on the April ballot.
