DREAM Act just another expense

Since there are so many children of U.S. citizens who cannot afford to attend college, why are so many people in favor of the DREAM Act? Unless I am misunderstanding something, all it does is to further encourage illegal immigration. And who will pay for these children to go to college? Will it be, as usual, the American taxpayer the same hardworking people who are already carrying the load that the politicians have dumped on our backs in the form of more taxes?

We need to get our country (financially) back on its feet before we once again start giving yet another benefit to the nontaxpayers. None of us working-class people could run our households the pathetic way the city/town, state and federal governments are running our cities/towns, states and country.
