Aldermen file for re-election in West Chicago

Aldermanic races are shaping up in West Chicago. where seven seats one in each ward will be open in the April 5 election.

So far, there are contested races in the Ward 1 and Ward 7.

In Ward 1, incumbent alderman James Beifuss and newcomer Donna M. May filed nominating petitions on Monday, the first day of filing. Beifuss has been an alderman since 2001.

In Ward 7, incumbent Matt Fuesting faces a challenge from newcomer Graig Neville. Fuesting has been an alderman since 2006.

Alderman Ruben Pineda, who has been on the city council since 1998, filed petitions in Ward 3.
