Muslim community, speak up for U.S.

Heartfelt thanks to the Daily Herald (Dec. 4) for printing the tragic news that a Pakistani cleric in Peshawar Pakistan has “offered a cash reward Friday to anyone who kills a Christian woman convicted of blasphemy against Islam. A Pakistani court sentenced Asia Bibi to death on Nov. 8.”

The world needs to know about the frequency of persecution of Christians. We are waiting to hear denouncements of such human rights violations from the many Islamic clerics and other organizations enjoying the freedom in our country.

John F. Kennedy in his June 11, 1963 address to the nation said, “This nation was founded by men of many nations and backgrounds. It was founded on the principal that all men are created equal and that the rights of every man are diminished when the rights of one man are threatened.”

Later Kennedy added “But legislation, I repeat, cannot solve this problem (human rights) alone. It must be solved in the homes of every American ---across our country.”

I am wondering why the Muslim communities in America don't tell their countries of origin that America is a wonderful country with freedom of religion for all?
