Hawks place Hossa on injured list, recall 2 forwards
The Chicago Blackhawks have placed star forward Marian Hossa on the injured list, freeing up roster space while Patrick Kane also nurses a leg injury.
The move Wednesday allowed Chicago to recall forwards Jeremy Morin and Rob Klinkhammer from the Rockford IceHogs of the AHL.
Hossa (eight goals, 10 assists) has been sidelined since injuring his lower body in a collision with teammate Nick Boynton during practice on Nov. 29. He was expected to miss two to three weeks.
Kane (11 goals, 16 assists) could be out for up to three weeks after injuring a leg while hitting the boards early in a win over Calgary on Sunday.
The Stanley Cup champions were 15-12-2 heading into Wednesday's game against the Dallas Stars.
