Dundee-Crown 3rd at Hinsdale South

Despite having to forfeit 5 weight classes, Dundee-Crown sent 9 seniors to the Hinsdale South wrestling tournament Saturday and finished in third place overall.

The Chargers had to overcome a 21-point deficit to overtake the hosts in the final round of the tournament to finish in the top three.

Cody Churkey (215 pounds) paced the Chargers with a first-place finish while Alonzo Fuller (145) finished in second place and Connor Lewis (119), Gustavo Jacobo (140), Steven Vincent (152), Chris Lamprecht (160), and Carson Tanner (189) rounded out the top three as they all finished in third place in their respective weight classes.

Proviso West won the tournament and Downers Grove North was second.

Bartlett goes 3-0: The Hawks used strong performances from several different wrestlers to capture a perfect day at Streamwood’s triple dual as they defeated Streamwood 55-9, Belvidere 37-29, and Larkin 63-10. Sal Annoreno (125), Lee Flores (135), Kenny Malekian (140), Luke Laten (145), Nick Mokodanski (152), and Tom Gbean (189) all went a perfect 3-0 on the day to pace the Hawks.
