Man charged in McHenry robbery

A Wonder Lake man was arrested Friday night after holding up three people in front of their McHenry residence, according to police.

Craig A. Rebman, 26, of the 5900 block of McCullom Lake Road was charged with aggravated battery Friday after police found him inside a residence near the scene of the crime.

Police said Rebman approached three victims who were walking to their vehicle in front of their house on the 800 block of Plymouth Lane at approximately 10:15 Friday night. He stopped them, displayed what they believed to be a gun and demanded they empty their pockets, according to police.

McHenry County sheriff's deputies responded to the area and were able to locate a suspect who matched the description the victims provided at a nearby home, police said.

All three victims identified Rebman as the man who had robbed them, according to police.

He was transported to the McHenry County jail on $20,000 bond.
