Morris denies Kaneland’s comeback

Kaneland slashed a 9-point fourth quarter deficit down to one on three occasions, but host Morris connected on 11 free throws in the final quarter to hang on for a 54-48 Northern Illinois Big 12 East victory.

Andie Strang collected a team-high 15 points and grabbed 7 rebounds to lead the Knights (5-5, 0-1). Emily Heimerdinger added 11 points and Kelly Evers finished with 8 points and 8 rebounds.

Laney Miller and Alex Granger combined for 41 points for Morris.
