Helm scores 20 in Kaneland’s win

Daily Herald reports Freshman Daniel Helm connected on 9 of 10 free throws as part of a 20-point performance, leading Kaneland to a 54-49 Northern Ill

Drew David added 13 points for the Knights (3-1, 1-0) while Chaon Denlinger had 10.

Kaneland trailed 13-9 after the first quarter, but recovered to grab a 27-26 halftime advantage.

Aurora Christian 75, St. Edward 57: Michael Ellis led St. Edward with 23 points but the Green Wave (2-3, 0-1) fell on the road in their Suburban Christian Blue opener. Edward O’Halloran added 18 points for St. Edward.
