Hannah should be proud of her actions

Seventeen-year-old Hannah Perryman (“Lasting Impact” Nov. 16) should most definitely be a hero to teenage girls in Illinois. It is very impressive that someone that age made a change to the state law to make it easier to get orders of protection to keep a teen from stalking her.

It's sad to hear that despite many pleas for more than four years, the state did nothing to help her. I am sure that there are many girls who have gone through the same thing she has, whether it's now or in the past. Now there is a law because of Hannah Perryman that will put a halt to stalkers and stop anyone from having to deal with such a frightening issue.

This will not only stop stalkers, but it can prevent any potential sexual assault victims. I'm sure there are many teenage girls like myself who admire Hannah for her determination to put an end to a problem that can greatly affect anyone. But I am positive that there are many victims who are tremendously grateful for her actions, and she should be proud of what she did.
