Mount Prospect Public Library Recognizes Employees and Volunteers for Years of Dedicated Service
At last Thursday's Board meeting, the Trustees of the Mount Prospect Public Library issued two proclamations recognizing both staff members and volunteers for their years of service.
In 2010, 27 Library employees reached significant employment anniversaries, ranging from five to 30 years and representing nearly every department in the Library. This depth of experience helps the Library continue to provide the high standard of service the community has come to expect. John Zulaski, Library Board Vice President, congratulated the staff and noted, “We want to publicly acknowledge their contributions to the Library and the community of Mount Prospect. The Library wouldn't be what it is without these wonderful people.”
In addition, six volunteers were recognized for their years of continual service. Harold Weary has been an integral part of the Library's volunteer force for 41 years. Now 102 years old, Mr. Weary has spent more years in volunteer service than he did in his paid career in the comptroller's office at United Airlines. Several other volunteers are well on their way to matching Mr. Weary's commitment. Adeline Kruse and Jan O'Keefe have each served as volunteers for 25 years, followed closely by Zoe Mather (20 years), Lorraine Ormerod (10 years), and Vasudha Sullins (10 years). These volunteers play an important role in the Library's operations by helping process incoming mail, delivering materials to homebound residents, providing one-on-one computer learning, and assisting with the Genealogy collection and research. The Library truly appreciates their dedication.
