No injuries in Wheaton house fire

No one was injured in a fire Monday morning inside a Wheaton home.

Firefighters received a call just after 7:30 a.m. reporting a fire at a house on the 800 block of Plamondon Road, officials said.

When they arrived, firefighters saw flames coming from the rear of the house, according to reports. No one was inside, authorities said, and no residents or firefighters were injured.

The fire was brought under control within about 30 minutes, officials said. Its cause is unknown.

Investigators from the Wheaton Fire Department, DuPage Fire Investigation Task Force and Wheaton Police Department are conducting an investigation to determine the source of the flames.

Damage totals were unavailable Monday. But the Wheaton Building Department deemed the home unsafe to occupy due to fire and smoke damage.
