Woodstock's Marian Catholic recruiting new students
Marian Central Catholic High School in Woodstock will open its doors Sunday, Nov. 21, to welcome the families and students who are interested in learning what its faith-based education has to offer.
The afternoon will begin at 1 p.m. with an administrator presentation in the auditorium, 1001 McHenry Ave. in Woodstock. Building tours will follow until 3 p.m., where families will have the opportunity to speak with teachers, students and administrators and discover the benefits of a Marian education.
The construction of the new 25,000-square-foot building addition will be complete in December. Classes will be held in the seven new state-of-the-art combination science classroom/laboratories beginning second semester of the 2010-11 school year. In addition to the science classrooms, the addition will contain an engineering classroom and a new chapel. A renovation of the current science department will allow expansion of the guidance department and turn current science rooms into regular classrooms. Additionally, each year technology is updated in the classrooms; the amount of financial assistance has been expanded almost $300,000 in 2010-11 available to families; and the athletic and other co-curricular programs continue to thrive.
Marian Central welcomes 715 students each day. Classes are small enough for students to get to know each other, yet the student body is large enough that we can offer a varied and challenging college preparatory curriculum.
