Outlook: After directing the Grens to a 20-win season last year, Kirkorsky is excited for his third season to commence despite the graduation of five starters. That group included D-I players Capotosto (St. Bonaventure) and Lindfors (Wisconsin-Milwaukee). “The kids know what it takes to be successful,” Kirkorsky said. “We play in a talented Mid-Suburban League, and we are confident that we can compete with anyone.” Fries and Miller are four-year varsity players. “They have done all of the right things and are prepared to take on larger roles,” Kirkorsky said. “Michelle Calmeyn is a gifted athlete who is coming into her own as a basketball player.” Kirkorsky believes sophomores Naughton and Boyd have a chance to be special players. Boyd showed great promise in volleyball, too. Solorio is also expected to have an immediate impact. “And we are looking for a few of our juniors to step in and do the little things to make us successful,” Kirkorsky added.
