Crystal Lake man charged with drug test fraud

A Crystal Lake man has been charged with trying to defraud a drug and alcohol screening earlier this week.

Anthony L. Thompson, 21, of the 3000 block of Weathervane Lane, is being held in McHenry County Jail on a charge alleging he tried to pour a clear liquid into a drug screening cup from a plastic bag tied around his waist while providing a urine sample during his court-ordered probationary drug test on Nov. 15, according to McHenry County Sheriff's police.

He was caught by the McHenry County Court Services, police said, and they notified the McHenry County Sheriff's Office.

Thompson was taken into custody and transported to jail, and is currently being held on $20,000 bond. His next court date is scheduled for Nov. 19.
