Soccer teams plan food drive

Players for the FC Barrington and FCB travel soccer teams will conduct a community food drive, “Pack the Pantries,” on Saturday, Nov. 20.

The teams will collect food and household product donations at the Jewel-Osco in Barrington from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., and at the Jewel-Osco stores in Lake Zurich and Hoffman Estates from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Youths 7-18 years old will participate in this drive to benefit the Barrington and Cuba Township food pantries.

Last year's event was an overwhelming success, collecting more than 1,000 cans of soup, 1,800 rolls of toilet paper, 450 jars of peanut butter and jelly, 150 bottles of laundry detergent and 1,200 cans of fruit and vegetables.
