Island Lake law band underage drinking in homes

Adult Island Lake residents now can face fines if they allow underage drinking in their homes. The village board on Thursday voted 4-3 to approve the social hosting ordinance, which would also punish people if underage drinking occurs in their home without their knowledge. Several other area communities have similar ordinances on the books.
