Northern Chicago Community Unites to Help Needy Kids
On Thursday, Nov. 11, hundreds of families from northern Chicago communities—including Mt. Prospect—will join families from across the U.S. to pack gift-filled shoe box gifts for more than 8 million hurting children worldwide. Families will fill shoe box gifts with toys, school supplies, candy, necessity items and more in an effort to bring joy to needy kids around the world. Their goal is the pack more than 500 shoe box gifts.

Families and kids will visit various stations to fill their box with toys, candy and necessity items; write a note of encouragement; and prepare their box for shipping.
Then, Nov. 15 -22, collection sites in north suburban Chicago will be bustling with activity as thousands of colorfully-wrapped shoe box gifts—including gifts from this party—are dropped off. Hundreds of volunteers will pack the gifts into cartons and load them onto trailers for their journey overseas.
