GOP has but one goal: Unseat Obama

U.S. Sen. Mitch McConnell has tipped us off to the Republican strategy for the next two years. Their only goal is to unseat the president. Expect little else, but Washington gridlock and extreme partisanship. In this time of crises, they place partisan politics above national problem solving. Little will get done.

Relief is not in sight for more jobs, improvement in education, main-street business growth, essential infrastructure-servicing, and reducing the trillion-dollar sink holes of war in Iraq, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Palestine/Israel. The Republicans will try to take away the benefits afforded by the health care bill through total repeal, rather than revision. Sum total negative: 14 million Americans without benefits again. They will deprive the U.S. Treasury of billions through long-range tax cuts for the wealthy. They will take away Social Security through privatization.

McConnell has signaled that for the next two years Americans will suffer because Republican priority is not going to cooperate on solving problems, but to regain total control, absolute power, not to share power. We all know the disaster that proved to be under GWB. Again, the common good of democracy suffers because of the corporate dominance of our electoral processes.
