Schaumburg High music students selected for festival

Schaumburg High School's music department had 10 students selected to perform in the Illinois Music Educators Association's District 7 Festival, Saturday, Nov. 13, at Glenbrook South High School, 4000 W. Lake Ave., Glenview.

Music students are chosen through a highly-competitive audition process. The Schaumburg students are senior clarinet Rebecca Vaporis, senior trombone James Mahowald, senior tuba Daniel Parris, senior double bass Will Garza, senior violin Alex Garza, senior tenor vocal Brian Keehn, junior trumpet Eric Stevenson, junior cello Jane Ki, junior violin Courtney Szeto, and sophomore percussion Christian Moreno. Senior James Mahowald was chosen to perform in the District 7 Jazz Festival, Saturday, Nov. 20, at Lake Zurich High School, 300 Church St.
