New leader takes over GLMV Chamber

Alese Campbell has been named the new executive director for the largest chamber of commerce in Lake County.

The Green Oaks, Libertyville, Mundelein, Vernon Hills Chamber announced Tuesday that Campbell will serve as its leader effective immediately.

Campbell is well known in the local business community as she spent eight years working as director of the Small Business Development Center at the College of Lake County in Grayslake, where she oversaw the comprehensive small business administration program.

Most recently she spent three years as client service manager at RSM McGladrey Inc. in Chicago.

In addition, she has been a chamber member serving on the Small Business Committee, and she has owned and operated two convenience stores in the past.

Campbell replaces Interim Executive Director David Ferguson. He has been filling in since Mark Foley left the post last year.

“We're excited that we are able to bring someone of Alese's caliber to GLMV,” said Mike Graves, chairman of the chamber board.

“Alese has demonstrated experience in owning and operating her own business, leading organizations and their boards and successfully developing and nurturing partnerships in the business community,” he said.
