Wredling students pitch in
As part of the overall curriculum, the eighth-graders at Wredling Middle School in St. Charles are taught about serving their community.
The students worked on a community service project Thursday at Hickory Knolls Natural Area (formerly Campton Hills Park) from late morning until midafternoon.
As part of a team building day, a group of 130 students and their teachers worked on saving plants and removing dangerous plants/trees from taking over the preserve. The teachers are Renee Boehm, Terry Celaya, Tracy Dockum, Katherine Kerby, Angie Russell and Sharon Zicherman.
The project was done in partnership with the St. Charles Park District.
