No embarrassment on this endorsement

Bek Soen has published two letters to the editor signed simply as a resident of Itasca. But there's more that you should know before taking Ms. Soen's word as “just a local resident.”

She is a permanent staff member for the Ben Lowe campaign. She makes no reference to that bias in her letters. That's deceitful. It is important for politicians to get their message out there, but they need to put their name on it so local residents can hold them accountable for the information they convey. Campaigns aren't about trying to trick the public into believing there is a groundswell of grass-roots support; they are about putting forward an agenda that is compelling and energizes people to support you.

I haven't heard one word from Ben Lowe on how to fix the economy or get people back to work. Ben Lowe's campaign motto is “restoring our moral compass.” With deceptive tactics like these, I think not. For full disclosure, I am a local resident from Bloomingdale, and I'm supporting Congressman Peter Roskam because he has a plan to stop the tax increases, eliminate burdensome regulations to unleash small business creativity, and rein in out-of-control spending to get our economy back on the right track. Now that&'s an agenda I'm not ashamed to put my name next to.
