Ex-parks chief to run Geneva History Center

Steve Persinger, former Geneva Park District executive director, has been named the interim director of the Geneva History Center.
He fills the vacancy left by Dave Oberg, who took a job at a Grayslake museum.
Persinger retired from the park district in June 2009 after 30 years service. The park board named its community center at Peck and Keslinger roads after him. The history center has a museum and archives in its facility at 113 S. Third St., Geneva.
