Crazy Hair Day Does Crazy Well for Wood Dale's Holy Ghost School

It can be a challenge to motivate parents and kids to help their school raise funds. That inspired Joann Wheeler, the Market Day chair at Wood Dale's Holy Ghost School, 260 N. Wood Dale Road, to create monthly events to encourage sales of Market Day's food products, which the school uses as its major fundraising activity.

“When a school family places a Market Day order, the family is given a coupon that allows their child or children to participate in one of our school's fun special day activities. Everyone loves the idea, including our principal, Diana Mendez. We have really increased the level of our participation and fundraising totals,” said Joann Wheeler. She noted that Crazy Hair Day was a school favorite, although participation was high for Mismatched Clothes Day, Wear Green Day, Favorite Sports Team Day and Crazy Hat Day.

“Now every month the kids look forward to the next special day,” concluded Wheeler.
