Candidate's vote not for sale

Politicians are in debt to the same corporations, PACs, and lobbyists they are supposed to regulate for millions of dollars in campaign contributions. Democracy and justice should not be for sale to the highest bidder.

Peter Roskam, representative for the 6th Congressional District, is in debt to such groups. They have made obscene profits for many years based on the votes provided by Peter. In July, Roskam voted “no” on a bill to remove the $75 million cap oil companies were to pay to clean up after oil spills. If this had not passed, any excessive cost of cleanup would have fallen on taxpayer's shoulders. Peter Roskam has received over $40,000 from the oil and gas industry in 2009-2010. Peter clearly can't do his job when he is in debt to these groups.

It is time for a new representative in Washington. Ben Lowe will be that change on Nov. 2. Ben Lowe has taken zero dollars from corporations, PACs or lobbyists. Peter has collected over $3 million from these groups. Ben Lowe is a grass-roots candidate accountable only to our community. Ben Lowe is only accepting contributions from individuals. His vote is not for sale.
