Teach Chinese to students early on
Barrington Unit District 220 has the right idea teaching Chinese in the elementary schools. Our schools need to revamp and update the language programs. Spanish, German and French should be downsized or eliminated. The schools should teach languages not known in the general population, such as Ukrainian, Polish and Indian. This would allow further diversification and allow us to embrace a holistic, balanced international view.
