Kirk's lies disqualify him
Mark Kirk should not be our next U.S. Senator. There are several reasons why we should not vote for him, but none more important than the fact that he's a serial liar. This isn't, as he claims, a case of misspeaking. He has lied about his military record, not once, not twice, but at least eight times.
The most egregious claim that he served in Operation Iraqi Freedom is not just a lie, it is a slap-in-the-face to all the brave men and women who really did put their lives on the line in Iraq.
The lies don't stop there.
He lied about receiving an intelligence Officer of the Year Award, about running the war room at the Pentagon and about his alleged teaching experience. He claims to be a fiscal conservative and an independent, yet he voted for Bush over 80 percent of the time -- including every single one of Bush's budgets -- which took us from a $236 billion surplus to a deficit in excess of a trillion dollars.
He voted against extending unemployment insurance 13 times.
He said he would vote for the jobs bill to save teacher jobs but when the vote actually came up -- turns out he lied -- he voted against it.
Now he's lying about his opponent.
His ad suggesting that Giannoulias gave “Risky loans to convicted mobsters was found by the independent factcheck.org to be “largely erroneous. In other words, he's lying.
I don't want a serial liar representing me in the U.S. Senate. Do you?
