Cook County men in court on drug charges
A Streamwood man and a Palatine man both appeared in bond court on felony drug charges Saturday in separate cases.
Dario Christino, 33, of Miller Street in Streamwood, was charged with possession of a controlled substance, a class four felony, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Hanover Park police said they pulled Christino over at about 8 p.m. Friday because they knew he had a revoked driver's license. The prosecutor told the judge that officers were aware of this because Christino had been the subject a recent drug investigation and was on felony probation.
Police pulled over Christino, driving a 2001 Dodge Durango, at Laurel and Center streets in Hanover Park. Police reported finding bags of cocaine weighing 12.8 grams and drug paraphernalia in the back seat of the car.
Christino's bond was set at $25,000. His next court date is Nov. 9, at which time prosecutors will continue to discuss revoking Christino's previous felony probation.
In a separate case, Johnson Quadarius, 22, of Spruce Drive in Palatine, was charged with possession of cannabis and intent to deliver cannabis, a felony.
Quadarius was the passenger in a vehicle pulled over in the 2000 block of Rand Road at 3 p.m. Friday. The car had expired license plates, police said.
While talking with Quadarius, police said, he admitted to having drugs in the car. Police found 29 grams of marijuana and a scale used to weigh and distribute the drug.
Bond was set at $5,000 for the Palatine High School graduate. He is scheduled to appear in court next on Nov. 10.
