Veterans thankful for Sente efforts

I am deeply concerned about our economy, both locally and across Illinois. As a veteran myself, I was extremely pleased to see that my state representative, Carol Sente, sponsored legislation providing small business loans to veterans.

Illinois' economy is clearly struggling, and we need leaders in state government like Carol Sente to step up to the plate to give veterans an opportunity to establish a business and create jobs in our area.

Returning combat veterans from Iraq and Afghanistan have some of the highest unemployment rates in the country.

That is why legislation that was sponsored by Rep. Sente is so important.

Re-establishing a private sector career after multiple deployments and other challenges faced by these veterans has proven to be extremely challenging.

I am grateful for the efforts of state Rep. Carol Sente in sponsoring this legislation and ensuring its passage.

I firmly believe we need more elected officials like Carol Sente who have both business savvy as well as respect for the service of veterans.
