Why the holdup on tax-cut vote?
Sen. Dick Durbin said Democrats will come together to extend Bush-era tax cuts. He stated on CNN that Democrats support the idea to keep the lower tax rate for married couples making $250,000 or less. At least five Democrats and all Republicans say that Bush-era tax cuts should be extended across the board. Although Democrats control 59 seats in the Senate, party leaders said that they would delay a vote until after the November election.
If the Democrats' idea is so good, why delay the vote? Is it because they don't have the support of those running for re-election? Perhaps the administration fears that they will lose the whole Democratic Party, and if they don't take an up or down vote they will lose.
The American people wont forget who held up the vote.
