Naperville man charged with sexually assaulting child
A 33-year-old man has been accused of assaulting a child in his Naperville home, authorities said Wednesday.
Vicente Torres-Meza, of the 700 block of Inland Circle, is being held in DuPage County jail and is charged with predatory criminal assault of a child.
Naperville police officers said they learned of the assault on Oct. 7 after the child, who had been residing out of state, told another police department she had been the victim of a sexual assault during the time she lived in Naperville.
The family was referred to Naperville investigators, who met with the child and her guardian Friday.
Police say Torres-Meza, during an investigation that led to his Tuesday arrest, confessed to having a sexual relationship with the girl.
The charges would indicate the girl was under the age of 12 at the time.
Torres-Meza is being held on $50,000 bond, of which he must pay the entire amount.
