Roselle police release robbery suspect sketch

Roselle police released a sketch of a man suspected of robbing an auto-parts store early this week on the 1000 block of west Lake Street.

Detectives continue to search for the man and hope residents will share any information they may have on the crime.

Police said the suspect arrived as the store was closing, knocked on the locked door and told the clerk he needed to buy a last-minute part around 8 p.m. Monday. He then ran behind the register and took an unknown amount of cash and pushed the clerk, authorities said.

The man was last seen fleeing west through the parking lot.

Police said the suspect is a black male with a heavy Jamaican accent, between the ages of 20 and 25, with a thin build and standing about 6 feet tall. He was wearing a black Nike hooded sweatshirt and brown pants, police said.

Anyone with information should call Sgt. John Lawson at (630) 671-4044 or e-mail crimetips@roselle.il.us.
