WW South's Kelly wins regional
Wheaton Warrenville South junior Tee-K Kelly shot a 3-over-par 75 to win medalist honors at the Class 3A Wheaton Warrenville South regional Tuesday at Arrowhead.
The Tigers placed second at 319, 2 strokes behind first-place Hinsdale Central. Senior Max Channon hit an 80 for the Tigers, Jason Plepel and Thomas Jaeschke hit 82s.
Glenbard West took the third and final spot in next Monday's sectional as junior Kyle Kochevar shot a 76. Trevor Toulouse added an 80, Nic Nogulich an 81, and Dan Schlesser and 83.
Robby Windisch and Kyle Martens qualified individually for West Chicago. Doug Miceli made it through for Willowbrook.
For Wheaton North, seniors Adam Onorato and Andrew Shadid qualified, as did junior Sam Otto.
Class 2A Vernon Hills regional: St. Francis won a regional for the second time, scoring a 314 at White Deer Run Golf Course. Mike Melka's 77 tied for medalist honors, with Melka losing a playoff on the third hole. Chris Garcia, Matt Mochel and Jon Bruggeman each added 79s for the Spartans. St. Francis advances to the Freeport sectional Monday.
Class 2A Lemont regional: Glenbard South took the third and final team qualifying spot with a 331, trailing winner Lemont at 320 and Nazareth's 327 at par-72 Broken Arrow. Adam Turner led the Raiders with a 76, and Dan Ziegler added an 82.
Eric Lederman, Mike Davis and Shane Quinlan qualified individually for Montini.
Class 3A Addison Trail regional: Lake Park won the team trophy with a 321, beating Schaumburg by 5 strokes. Host Addison Trail missed the third and final sectional qualifying spot to Conant by 1 stroke with a 336.
Addison Trail junior Jimmy Jaskoske won medalist honors with a 76. He will be joined at the sectional by teammates Pat Hartnett (86), Derik VanHoose (87) and Adam Regula (87).
Glenbard North's Ryan Tintera also qualified with an 87.
