Arlington Heightsbull; Vandals have repeatedly climbed on the roof at Our Lady of the Wayside Catholic School, 432 S. Mitchell Ave., primarily on weekends. School employees found empty alcohol bottles and lawn chairs there around 10 a.m. Sept. 22. Someone had tipped over a roof air conditioner unit and had hurled bottles to the ground. bull; Vandals climbed on the roof at Westgate School, 500 S. Dwyer, between noon Sept. 17 and noon Sept. 26 and broke a small weather station attached to a milk crate. Damage was estimated at $200. Vandals smashed the crate against a wall and left empty beer bottles and cans on the roof. Offenders also wrote graffiti on playground equipment and left broken beer bottles.bull; Thieves stole a cell phone from a female customer at Aldi's, 550 E. Golf Road, between 8 and 830 a.m. Sept. 1 but reported Sept. 28. bull; A vandal used a marker to write "U suck @ parking["] on the windshield of a 1998 Honda Accord taking up two spaces in a lot at the park district's Olympic Pool, 660 N. Ridge, between 5:30 and 7:40 p.m. Sept. 29. bull; Thieves stole the luggage lock off a suitcase and removed two sweatsuits, a designer bag and two bottles of prescription medication as the female victim was checking in at the Holiday Inn, 2120 S. Arlington Heights Road, around 10 p.m. Sept. 28. Value was estimated at $800.Des Plainesbull; Joseph A. Litt, 18, of the 900 block of Alfini Drive, Des Plaines, was arrested around 4:20 p.m. Sept. 28 at Kmart, 1155 E. Oakton St., and charged with retail theft after he took four DVDs valued at $78.bull; Thieves stole a men's white mountain bike locked in a bike rack on the 1500 block of Ellinwood between 8:30 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. Sept. 28. Value was estimated at $400.Mount Prospectbull; Vandals used a sharp object, possibly a key, to extensively scratch a 2003 Ford Mustang in a parking lot on the 1400 block of South Busse Road between 12:30 and 7 a.m. Sept. 29. The offenders gouged both doors, both quarter panels, windshield and the trunk lid. Vandals hurled rocks that scraped the driver's-side and passenger's-side door windows and shattered the passenger's-side mirror. Damage was estimated at $2,000. bull; Thieves stole a laptop computer valued at $999 out of an apartment on the 1700 block of Chariot Court around 11 p.m. Sept. 25 during a party in the apartment. bull; Diane M. Luna, 18, of the 700 block of Beau Drive, Des Plaines, was arrested around 12:20 p.m. Sept. 24 in a courtyard on the 300 block of Hawthorne Circle and charged with local ordinance possession of marijuana. Her court date is Oct. 21.bull; Michael P. Bronowski, 20, of the 800 block of East Shady Way, Arlington Heights, and Artur S. Dlugopolski, 21, of the 1100 block of South Oakwood Drive, Mount Prospect, were arrested around 3:40 a.m. Sept. 17 on Robbie Lane at Crestwood Lane and charged with felony burglary. Bronowski also was charged with unlawful consumption of alcoholic liquor. A witness saw them going through his neighbor's vehicle on the 1700 block of Rusty Drive and notified police. A police commander drove through the area and found them walking on Robbie Lane. Bronowski admitted stealing two packs of cigarettes, two walkie-talkies and charging base, an AC adapter, two flashlights and a stuffed toy shaped like a Chicago Blackhawks hockey skate out of an unlocked 2002 Chevrolet Express work van and $1 out of an unlocked 2005 Toyota Scion, both on the 1700 block of Rusty Drive. Their court date is Oct. 7.bull; Burglars stole a leased cello belonging to Quinlan Fabish Music Co., a carton of cigarettes and loose change out of a 2006 Toyota Rav4 in a driveway on the 1900 block of Bonita Drive between 4:55 p.m. Sept. 27 and 8 a.m. Sept. 28. Value was estimated at $1,553.Wheelingbull; Thieves stole three catalytic converters from three Septran-owned school buses in the company's lot at 2161 Foster Ave. between 5 p.m. Sept. 24 and 7 a.m. Sept. 27. Value was estimated at $1,875.bull; Burglars stole two wallets out of a 2006 Pontiac G6 in an underground garage at an apartment complex on the 200 block of Inwood Drive between 8 and 11:50 p.m. Sept. 22.bull; Vandals scuffed and dented the hood and roof and bent the antenna on a 2002 GMC Yukon-Denali in a mobile home park on the 500 block of South Milwaukee Avenue between 5 p.m. Sept. 22 and 8 a.m. Sept. 23. Damage was estimated at $250.bull; Thieves cut the lock and stole a turquoise BMX bike valued at $270 from a carport at a home on the 1600 block of Chippewa Trail between 3 p.m. Sept. 23 and 11 a.m. Sept. 24.bull; Burglars broke into a 1999 Jeep Cherokee in a business lot at 750 Northgate Parkway between 3 and 8:30 p.m. Sept. 24 and stole two speakers, a subwoofer and a portable GPS unit.
